The Eliza Vineyard was planted in the early 1980’s and Dennis Hart and Julienne White bought it in the early 2000’s.
In 2012 Harvey Walsh and Penelope Carlisle began Eliza’s rehabilitation. Unfortunately The Vineyard, during the past few years has suffered severely from drought, smoke taint and flooding. Yet still this gritty little vineyard, of just one hectare, has hung on and its wines have captured our imaginations, so much so that today a group of six passionate viticulturists have taken over the care of the vineyard and established the Eliza Vineyard Co-Operative.
2023 will be their first vintage.
Despite the difficult wet growing conditions this will be a vintage to savour.
